About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our team based in Subiaco. The Accounts Payable Officer will be part of our finance team and provide overall support to the business, focusing on the accounts payable process. This role is located in Subiaco and is offered on a 12 month fixed term full time position, with potential to convert to permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve invoices for accuracy, completeness and compliance with company policies
- Handle vendor inquires and address payment related concerns
- Cost allocation for purchase orders, invoices and credit cards
- Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger
- Reconcile vendor statements and vendor account reconciliation
- Ensure Accounts Payable is closed each month according to the timetable
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes
- Prepare and perform weekly payment runs
- Purchase order management, including purchase orders receipting and monitoring of purchase orders
- Credit card coding and reconciliations
- Assist the wider finance team as required
- Supplier account management including statement reconciliations, discrepancy investigation and managing supplier relationships
What You’ll Bring
You’re an experienced and organised finance professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment. Your adaptable with an eagerness to learn, working well autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team. Ideally you will have experience working in the mining industry and a tertiary qualification in finance or related discipline. Additionally you will have:
- 5 years working experience in a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent time management, planning and prioritisation skills
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP (desirable)
