About the Role

As the Injury Management Coordinator, you will proactively oversee injury management activities to support the health and safety of staff. The role will also facilitate workers compensation and return to work processes, alongside the development of general health and wellbeing promotion strategies. This role is offered on a permanent full time basis and is located in Subiaco. Due to the nature of the role, there may be a requirement for occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate end‑to‑end injury management and workers’ compensation cases.
  • Facilitate return‑to‑work programs for employees, providing advice on injury, health and fitness‑for‑work matters.
  • Review and interpret medical reports to assess fitness for work using a risk‑based approach.
  • Provide effective case management for injured workers, including coordination of clinical interventions and attendance at medical reviews where required.
  • Develop and implement proactive injury management and rehabilitation strategies in collaboration with site leadership, HSE teams and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare, analyse and report on injury management performance, return‑to‑work outcomes and workers’ compensation costs.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legislative, site and company health and injury reporting requirements.
  • Identify system improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to the Head of Health, Safety, Environment & Training.

 

About You:

You are a practical and adaptable professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams in safety‑critical environments. You take a proactive, solutions‑focused approach to injury management, balancing care for people with operational needs. Confident working with a broad range of stakeholders, you communicate clearly, manage sensitive matters professionally, and thrive in fast‑paced, changing environments.

Additionally, you will bring:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in occupational health or injury management, ideally within mining, resources or remote environments.
  • Qualifications in Occupational Health, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology.
  • Strong knowledge of fitness‑for‑work requirements, ergonomics, workers’ compensation and occupational rehabilitation services.
  • Working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981.
  • Injury Management or Return to Work Coordinator certification.
  • Well‑developed computer skills, including experience with integrated management systems and standard business applications.
  • Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence and St John’s Senior First Aid certificate (or equivalent).
  • Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety (Desirable).
