About the Role

Looking to kick-start your career in health and safety? This is your opportunity to step into a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll learn, grow, and make a real impact from day one.

We are seeking entry-level Safety Advisors to join our HSET team at Telfer. Whether you’re newly qualified or early in your safety career, this role offers the chance to build practical experience while being supported by experienced safety professionals.

 

Please note this role is on 8/6 Roster – FIFO from perth

As a Safety Advisor, you will support the delivery of a safe and healthy work environment across site. Working closely with leaders and crews, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of safety activities including inspections, incident investigations, and safety system improvements.

 

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is motivated, proactive, and eager to develop their career in Work Health & Safety.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety improvement initiatives
  • Support safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Provide day-to-day safety advice and guidance to site personnel
  • Help maintain safety systems, records, and documentation
  • Compile and share safety statistics and reports
  • Work with supervisors and teams to promote safe work practices
  • Contribute to risk assessments and hazard identification activities
  • Support compliance with WHS legislation and company standards
  • Build strong working relationships across teams and departments

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re specifically looking for entry-level candidates who are ready to learn and grow. You might be a recent graduate or someone transitioning into safety from another role.

 

To be successful, you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or working towards it)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and take initiative
  • The ability to build relationships and influence positive safety behaviours
  • A proactive and team-focused attitude

 

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Exposure to safety systems or databases (e.g. incident reporting tools)
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

 

About Telfer Operations


Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
