About the Role

Reporting to the Surface Maintenance Fixed Plant Electrical Supervisor, this permanent, full-time FIFO role is a important part of our Surface Maintenance team at Telfer Mine, WA. This position is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and long-term integrity of electrical assets across the operation, covering everything from Primary Crushers to Tailings Booster Pumps.

As a Surface Maintenance Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain high performance standards and take a proactive approach to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) at all times.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of electrical plant and equipment to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with WHS requirements, relevant acts, standards, and regulations.
  • Complete electrical and instrumentation repairs, as well as preventative maintenance, within required timeframes to minimise downtime.
  • Calibrate and test various instrumentation, including control valves, flow meters, positioners, density gauges, level transmitters, and weightometers.
  • Install and repair electrical systems and components efficiently to maximise plant availability.
  • Identify and report defective equipment by raising notifications and confirming work orders in SAP

About You

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Electrical Maintenance Technician with a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork. You’ll need to be confident working in a mining environment, diagnosing and repairing electrical and instrumentation issues, and ensuring equipment runs efficiently. A good eye for detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are key to this role.

In addition to these qualities, the ideal candidate should have:

  • A Grade Electrical Licence.
  • Cert III or IV in Instrumentation.
  • At least 3 years of post-trade maintenance experience, with hands-on exposure to large-scale mining in a Process Plant environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret schematic drawings.
  • HV Switching qualification.
  • EWP (Elevated Work Platform) ticket.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • Confined Space training.
  • Competent computer skills, with experience using SAP or a similar Computerised Maintenance Management System
  • Senior First Aid certification.
  • LV Rescue and CPR training.
