About the Role
Reporting to the Underground Maintenance Fixed Plant Electrical Supervisor, this permanent, full-time FIFO role is an important part of our Underground fixed plant Maintenance team at Telfer Mine, WA. This position is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and long-term integrity of electrical assets across the operation, covering everything from the Winder, Crusher through to the HV Network.

As an Underground Maintenance Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining high standards of performance and adopt a proactive approach to occupational health and safety issues
- Monitoring and reporting on status of electrical plant and equipment.
- Ensuring all work electrical work complies with relevant acts, standards and regulations.
- Timely completion of electrical and instrumentation repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
- High Voltage switching
- Installing and repairing electrical systems and components in a timely manner to maximise plant availability.
- Raising notifications for defective equipment and time confirming work orders in SAP.
About You
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Electrical Maintenance Technician with a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork. You’ll need to be confident working in a mining environment, diagnosing and repairing electrical and instrumentation issues, and ensuring equipment runs efficiently. A good eye for detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are key to this role.
In addition to these qualities, the ideal candidate should have:
- A Grade Electrical Licence
- HV Switching qualification
- Minimum 3 years post trade maintenance experience with extensive exposure to large scale underground mining
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings.
- Competent computer skills – proficient in SAP or similar computerized maintenance management system
- LV rescue/CPR trained
- Winder maintainer experience advantageous
- EWP ticket
- Working at Heights Trained
- Confined Space Trained
