We’re seeking an experienced Business Services Manager to play a critical leadership role at our Telfer operation—driving performance across site support, supply chain, and commercial functions in a complex, large-scale environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a senior leadership position accountable for the performance and integration of Site Support, Supply & Logistics, and Commercial Operations.

You will lead a broad portfolio in a complex, site-based environment—ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially sound outcomes aligned with business strategy. As a key member of the site leadership team, you will influence decision-making, drive performance, and deliver operational excellence across multiple functions.

This is a full time role working an 8/6 FIFO roster.

As the Business Services Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Champion a strong safety-first, zero-harm culture across all operations and contractors
  • Lead and develop high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams across the portfolio
  • Drive performance through KPI management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Lead annual business planning and ensure alignment with site and corporate strategy
  • Oversee village services, aerodrome operations (CASA compliance), and workforce planning
  • Manage procurement, logistics, warehousing, and port operations
  • Strengthen supply chain performance, including vendor management and risk mitigation
  • Oversee major service contracts and ensure strong commercial governance
  • Represent Business Services at site leadership and governance forums
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement and cost optimisation initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, and community partners

About You

You are a commercially astute, results-driven leader with experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary operations in a site-based environment. Additionally you will have:

  • 8–12+ years’ experience in operations, business services, or commercial leadership roles
  • Proven success managing large, multi-functional teams in complex environments
  • Strong background in mining, resources, energy, or heavy industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract management, supply chain, and logistics operations
  • Proven financial capability across budget ownership, cost control, and forecasting
  • Experience working in remote or site-based operations
  • Confident stakeholder manager, able to engage across site, corporate, and external partners
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify risk, opportunity, and value drivers
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar

 

About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
