About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a gold-copper mine located in the Paterson Province of the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. It includes both open-pit and underground mining operations, as well as the operation of Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since beginning gold production in 1975, Telfer has produced more than 15Moz of gold to date.
Our Telfer operations offer a fly-in fly-out work arrangement, providing our workforce with a healthy work-life balance. Onsite, we offer a broad range of recreational activities, including a recently refurbished gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and both dry and wet mess facilities.
In addition to Telfer, Greatland owns 100% of the Havieron gold-copper, a world class development project with a multi-decade mine life, located 45km west of Telfer that will utilise the existing Telfer infrastructure to process Havieron ore, together with a significant exploration portfolio in the region surrounding Telfer.
About the Role
We are seeking multiple motivated Light Vehicle Mechanics to carry out both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on light vehicles and associated equipment. Reporting to the Supervisor - LV & Ancillary Equipment, you will be an active and proactive member of the Maintenance team at Telfer.
Please note: This is a full-time permanent role at our Telfer mine site, FIFO from Perth on 8 days on 6 days off roster but may be subject to unplanned shift work.
Other key deliverables of the role include:
- Providing technical support in all aspects of Light Vehicles and Ancillary equipment e.g Toyota and Isuzu trucks, bobcats, forklifts, Lighting Plants and Terex Franna cranes and a multitude of other minor plant and equipment supporting operations.
- Monitoring and reporting on status of equipment in line with Telfer and Greatland safety requirements.
- Identifying and reporting of any potential equipment failures
- Proactive improvement of maintenance strategies in adherence to company policies, procedures, and values
- Develop and maintain communication with other departments and key stakeholders on site at Telfer.
The ideal candidates will be a highly motivated and skilled individual who is able to work well under pressure and contribute to the success of the team. In addition, you will also ideally have:
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate as Light Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Engineering
- Toyota and Isuzu experience essential
- Terex Franna crane experience an advantage.
- On Highway Truck (Heavy Ridged) Mechanical Experience an advantage
- Mining FIFO experience and exposure to maintenance systems I.e. S.A.P an advantage
- Well versed with electronic diagnostic tools i.e. “G” Scan” and Toyota TEC Stream” or similar.
- Sound exposure to automotive electrical troubleshooting and repair would be an advantage.
- Automotive air-conditioning. Competent in troubleshooting and repair of Automotive A/C systems advantageous.
- Minor Fabrication and welding skills
- Manual C and HR Class Driver's License is required.
- First Aid, EWP, WAH , Forklift LF and CN licenses highly desirable.
