About the Role

Provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective operational control of the Gold room and Permit system to ensure timely secure dore handling and safe permitting between maintenance and operations. This is to ensure minimal disruption to the Telfer plan and provide support for the operations team. The role will also encompass pre-planning, safe and efficient delivery of Isolation and Permitting for all of our Scheduled Plant Shutdowns including Crushing, Milling and Total Plant Outages.

This role is offered on a full time basis on an 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth.

As a Permit and Gold Room Operator, you will be responsible for:

Safety:

• Demonstrate absolute commitment in providing a safe working environment by:

 • Supporting the Safety Management System ensuring a safety-first work culture; applying site safety standards, procedures and policies

• Participating in site safety initiatives and supporting the Greatland behaviours in the team

 • Ensuring adequate pro-active monitoring to maintain a safe work environment

 • Ensuring standard work procedures and safe systems of work are understood.

 • Ensuring all partners, vendors, external parties can operate safely and are fully aware of both industry, company and site safety processes and procedures

Technical:

• Demonstrate technical and conceptual excellence in anticipating problems participating as part of a team to meet Group, Department and Site safety and production goals such as: 

• Develop permits for the Ore Processing Department, including mark-up of PID Drawings and maintenance of GIB Boxes.

 • Perform Level 2 Isolations and advise on isolation methods, including when required commissioning of new equipment.

 • Perform and assist with audits across the Ore Processing Department.

• Operate the Gold Room, Elution and Electrowinning Circuits to achieve optimal gold production in line with approved production plans, monitoring performance, usage trends, throughputs and KPIs identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as required, as well as participation in security activities and shipments

• Ensure that plant, required for planned maintenance activities and breakdown responses, is prepared, isolated and cleaned in preparation for maintenance activities.

 • Ensure that the plant is kept clean and tidy so that operations and maintenance activities can be performed as planned, including the establishment and decommissioning of temporary pipework and pumps required for shutdown and breakdown activities.

About You

You are motivated by the opportunity to improve mine performance and identify new mining opportunities. Additionally you will have:

• Experience in a large-scale processing plant
• Experience in Electrowinning, tabling and smelting practices
• Experience with isolation procedures and programs
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings

About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold.
