About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a gold-copper mine located in the Paterson Province of the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. It includes both open-pit and underground mining operations, as well as the operation of Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since beginning gold production in 1975, Telfer has produced more than 15Moz of gold to date.
Our Telfer operations offer a fly-in fly-out work arrangement, providing our workforce with a healthy work-life balance. Onsite, we offer a broad range of recreational activities, including a recently refurbished gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and both dry and wet mess facilities.
In addition to Telfer, Greatland owns 100% of the Havieron gold-copper, a world class development project with a multi-decade mine life, located 45km east of Telfer that will utilise the existing Telfer infrastructure to process Havieron ore, together with a significant exploration portfolio in the region surrounding Telfer.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shutdown Scheduler to join our Maintenance Planning team at Telfer. In this role, you will be responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of maintenance shutdown activities in line with the Maintenance Business Process ensuring operational reliability and compliance with safety standards.
Please note: This role is on an 8/6 Roster – FIFO from Perth
. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule maintenance shutdowns, statutory, and safety-related tasks with urgency and precision.
- Develop and maintain high-quality work packs, incorporating feedback and improvements.
- Manage backlog and forward log work in line with Maintenance KPIs and MBP guidelines.
- Build and maintain 6-, 12-, and 52-week maintenance forecasts aligned with resource and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create safe, achievable, and value-adding schedules.
- Plan and schedule major maintenance and SIM (Shutdown Improvement Management) tasks in collaboration with Engineering.
- Coach and mentor others in maintenance planning processes and systems.
- Ensure all activities comply with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Participate actively in site safety initiatives and maintain a strong presence in the field to support a positive safety culture.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in SAP for maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Advanced Microsoft Project skills.
- Proven background in fixed plant maintenance.
- Trade or Engineering qualification.
- Diploma or Certificate in Project Management.
