About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Dump Leach & Tailings Dam Supervisor to lead our team at Telfer. This role is responsible for delivering safe, structured and efficient operations across the Dump Leach and Tailings Dam, optimising gold production while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Please note: This role is on a back-to-back 8/6 Roster flying FIFO from Perth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with site safety systems, policies and procedures
- Supervise day-to-day Dump Leach and Tailings Dam operations to meet production and quality targets
- Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring robust controls and safe systems of work are in place
- Allocate and coordinate work to ensure efficient execution and optimal resource utilisation
- Ensure compliance with metallurgical and tailings storage parameters, regulatory requirements and company standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including idea generation and implementation of improvement projects
- Conduct and support incident investigations, root cause analyses and corrective actions
- Develop, coach and mentor team members to enhance capability, safety behaviours and performance
- Monitor and review operational performance, including trend analysis and short interval control
- Facilitate communication through toolbox talks, safety meetings and stakeholder engagement
About You
- Proven experience in the day-to-day operation of Dump Leach circuits
- S26 qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience (minimum 5 years) in a mining or processing environment
- Strong commitment to safety leadership and risk management
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- C Class Manual license required
- Comfortable undertaking physically demanding work in an outdoor environment
- Demonstrated computer skills, with familiarity in Microsoft Office and SAP
About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
