About the Role
Greatland Gold is seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead our Major Maintenance contracting teams at Telfer. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant maintenance, installation and repair of critical assets within the processing plant.
You will play an important role in driving safe work practices, executing major maintenance activities, and ensuring plant reliability to support sustainable gold and copper production.
Roster: 8/6 or 15/13.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with WA WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022, site procedures, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Supervise and coordinate contractor teams delivering major mechanical maintenance, structural repairs, and remediation work across the processing plant.
- Plan, allocate, and oversee daily maintenance activities and work schedules, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Utilise SAP or similar CMMS systems to manage work orders, track maintenance activities, and ensure tasks align with engineering specifications.
- Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Planning, and other maintenance teams to minimise production downtime and maintain plant reliability.
- Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with site safety standards, quality requirements, and maintenance procedures.
- Support incident investigations, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and maintenance performance.
About You
- Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification and Section 26 Supervisor qualification.
- Current HR Class Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising mechanical trades within mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial environments.
- 5+ years post-trade mechanical experience, with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
- Experience coordinating planned and reactive maintenance activities in a processing plant or heavy industry setting.
- Project management experience
- Working knowledge of WA mining safety legislation and high-risk work environments.
- Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP, Pronto, or similar for maintenance planning and work order management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead contractors, prioritise work, and deliver maintenance outcomes in a dynamic operational environment.
About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
